Abstract:		 Detailed magnetometry was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd, along the line of a new water pipeline within three fields adjacent to the Western Relief Road, on the western edge of Yeovil, Somerset. The results indicate the presence of a number of very weakly positive linear anomalies within the southern and central parts of the site, but due to the weak and poorly defined response, it is not possible to determine their origin. Close to the north western edge of the survey corridor are a small number of weak responses, again lacking a coherent morphology. Several anomalies associated with land drainage and agricultural activity were also located. An existing water main within the northern part of the site and adjacent to the eastern part of the site has resulted in magnetic disturbance
