Abstract: |
An Archaeological evaluation undertaken Enfield Distribution Park, Ponders End, Enfield EN3 7SR consisted of two large stepped trenches and five test pits to investigate a palaeoenvironmental sequence of alluvial deposits including peat, relating to the Lea Valley, which were identified during a geoarchaeological investigation of the site. The evaluation confirmed the sequence of Lea Valley Gravel sealed by lower alluvium, peat and upper alluvium, although the peat was only located in isolated areas. The evaluation recorded no anthropogenic artefacts, features or structures within the peat or throughout the alluvium |
