The lecturer described the evolution of the various patterns of Roman pottery and showed drawings of Samian ware of different types and periods. At the conclusion of the lecture the idea of producing an illustrated catalogue of the Samian ware in the Grosvenor Museum (in Chester) was discussed. LD
