The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An evaluation was carried out by Wessex Archaeology to meet a condition of planning consent. The area to the south is known to contain archaeological remains of possible prehistoric and Roman date, and it has been suggested that medieval tenements could have extended from the High Street, to the west, back into the site. Three trenches were excavated but no archaeologiacl deposits or features were seen. The layers above natural brickearth consisted of homogenous naturally accumulated deposits with occasional modern brick fragments.
