Abstract:		 An archaeological trial trench evaluation was undertaken in June 2013 by University of Leicester Archaeological Services on behalf of Springbourne Homes on land at Twycross Road, Sheepy Magna, Leicestershire. The fieldwork was undertaken following the submission of a planning application for the construction of a residential development in order to assess the potential impact of the development on any archaeological remains as may have been present. The archaeological evaluation on land at Twycross Road, Sheepy Magna, Leicestershire, produced evidence for medieval occupation in the form of pits and ditches dating to the early 12th to mid-14th centuries and likely to represent activity to the rear of properties fronting Twycross Road immediately to the east. The recent work reflects the findings from previous fieldwork undertaken by ULAS adjacent to the site in 2002-3 on the road frontage.
