Abstract: |
A total of twelve samples was obtained from the roof of the nave of St Peter's Church, Claybrooke Parva. The analysis of these samples produced a single site chronology consisting of eight samples, being 146 rings long. This site chronology was dated as spanning the years AD 1271 to AD 1416. Interpretation of the meagre heartwood/sapwood boundaries on the dated samples indicates that all of them represent timbers with a felling date estimated to be in the range AD 1425 - 50. |
