Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on behalf of Herefordshire Council at Shire Hall, St Peter's Square, Hereford (NGR SO 5125 3999; HER ref EHE 2174). Three exploratory trial holes were excavated in advance of installation of a lift pit. No significant archaeological finds, features or deposits were encountered. The natural sand and gravels were found at 0.40m below the floor surface of the cellar.
