Abstract:		 Oxford Archaeology continued the ongoing programme of archaeological investigation within the East Parterre Garden with the intention of informing the conservation and reinstatement of the gardens. The 2006 season of work found the level of archaeological preservation in the side bed to be unexpectedly good. However, the original layout of the planting beds proved difficult to reconstruct from rectified photography alone, and required extensive sample excavation. Rectified aerial photography using mast-mounted cameras was carried out in two passes, in September and November 2006.
