Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the groundwork for a new Oil/Water Interceptor and base for a new AVGAS Tank, both within the curtilage of Bulk Fuel Installation (BFI) 980 at MoD Boscombe Down. It was unlikely that either works would reveal below ground archaeology as the immediate area had been extensively damaged during the construction of the BFI. No archaeological features were noted. The opportunity was taken to photographically record all structures connected with BFI 980 - a classic series of Cold War structures. |
