Abstract:		 Work required ahead of a development proposal for a new sports hall and other accommodation. The investigations had two elements. Firstly, a trenching evaluation required to test the potential for archaeological remains within proposed development areas. Secondly, monitoring of geotechnical investigations of an eastern retaining wall, with the aim of establishing whether the structure incorporates pre-18th century-fabric.
