Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out on site investigation works at Sandbank Street, Glasgow. The work was instigated by Scottish Canals because map evidence indicated that a former line of the Forth and Clyde Canal ran through the site. The watching brief did not identify any structural features associated with the canal but the presence of a deep in-filled area on the projected line of the canal was proven.
