Abstract: |
The watching brief took place from 7-18 July 2014. The main leg of the trench contained road surface and bedding material on top of natural subsoil. This carriageway represents the widening of West North Street which would have cut into the hill to the west of the current road. The short leg linking the cabling into the former Victoria House site contained previous road surfaces and services similar to this seen in the previous phase of this work (Cameron 2012, 10). The cabling trench is now complete and has been backfilled. |
