Abstract: |
GUARD Archaeology Ltd. worked closely with Donald Adamson and The Strachur and District Local History Society in pursuing his post-doctoral research on cattle droving routes in Scotland. The building in question has been in ruins since the mid 1800s and was formerly an Inn known as Tigh Caol. It is known to be on a droving route leading north to south across this area. The investigations aimed to establish the beginnings of the Inn and the point of it's demise, in so doing recovering artefacts to illustrate the economy and construction of the inn. |
