Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during remedial groundwork for the road drainage system outside Building 416 at MoD Boscombe Down. It was unlikely that the works would reveal below ground archaeology as the immediate area had been extensively damaged during the construction of the lower camp area in 1948/9. Although heavily truncated archaeology had been encountered previously, 80m to the north-east in 1998 below the foundations of Building 417, no archaeological remains or features were noted during the current work. All work was recorded. |
