Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluation took place on 17th March 2014. The weather was mild and sunny. Four trenches were opened using a wheeled JCB with 1.5m ditching bucket. It is likely that Feature F1 in Trench 2 is the cut for the Aberdeenshire Canal but it was not possible to fully investigate this as there was a modern water pipe in the top of the feature. If the SW corner of the site is to be soil stripped, Aberdeen City Council require an archaeologist to carry out a watching brief to record more of the possible canal feature, F1. A Cameron 2014. |
