Abstract: |
The magnetometer survey has worked extremely well, providing a detailed plan of the vicus to the east of the fort and other archaeological features to the north. The magnetic data from the fort itself compliment the radar results. Incredibly detailed results have been achieved with the GPR survey and not only have very large structures including the Principia, a possible Mansio, and a granary been identified but also enlightening detail such as hypocaust systems, drainage routes, intact floor surfaces, pillar bases and buttresses. |
