Abstract: |
This recording work was carried out following a desk-based assessment (Tees Event 1051) and prior to a proposed residential development. It took place across two fields under pasture and recorded a number of possible house platforms and terraces, earthworks of an undetermined nature and remnant ridge and furrow cultivation. The survey included four profiles across the ridge and furrow. This geomagnetic survey was conducted across land to the south of the village of Carlton. The work was carried out following a desk-based assessment (Tees Event 1051) and prior to a proposed residential development. The area surveyed covered approximately 3ha. over five areas. The survey detected the remains of ridge and furrow which extended beyond the area of extant earthworks, a number of features recorded on historic OS maps, and disturbed ground related to modern construction. |
