Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by NOMA Architects on behalf of their client Western Power Distribution to undertake archaeological trial trench evaluation on land adjacent to Collaford Lane. Four trenches which varied in size and were located to determine the archaeological potential of any surviving remains potentially threatened by the proposed development. Specifically it was hoped to determine, if possible, the foundation construction method of the extant remains of St Saviour's Place with a view to dating the property.
