Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out at 4 Upper Terrace, Hampstead, London Borough of Camden, NW3 in advance of the construction of a new basement associated with the extant property. Excavation of a single trench, within the footprint of the new basement, revealed natural sands truncated by a post-medieval brick drain associated with mid 19th century modifications to the property. Modern features identified included truncations associated with services and possible garden features, plus levelling deposits of made ground. The entirety of the trench was overlain by topsoil. No other archaeological features or finds of note were encountered.
