Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by AOC Archaeology in relation to a proposed residential development at Perceton, Irvine, North Ayrshire. The evaluation required an 8% trenching sample of the available Phase 1 development area. A total of 28 trenches of varying lengths and alignments were excavated encountering agricultural furrows and a single field boundary ditch aligned WSW-ENE in the NW corner of the site. Out with the agricultural features no significant archaeological features or artefacts were revealed. No further works are considered necessary within the evaluated area. K Paton 2014. |
