Abstract: |
A total of 14 linear trial trenches were excavated in an agricultural field prior to a proposed redevelopment. The trenches were targeted at a series of geomagnetic anomalies identified in an earlier survey (see Tees Event 887). A demolished building (19th or 20th century) was noted in the north-west corner of the site adjacent to the railway line. The south-western part of the site was found to contain a complex of ditches and gullies representing an Iron Age agricultural settlement (Tees HER 8678). |
