Abstract:		 This report describes the results of an archaeological trial trench evaluation carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology on land at Johnstons Press, Oundle Road, Peterborough (NGR TL 1802 9731) between the 28th April and the 1st May 2015. The archaeological work was commissioned by CgMs Consulting Ltd in response to a planning condition attached to residential development. The aim of the work was to characterise the archaeological potential of the proposed development area. The evaluation identified a concentration of archaeological features in the north-east of the site. These consisted of five ditches, one of which produced Iron Age X?X pottery, one pit also dating to the Iron Age, one undated posthole and one grave cut containing human remains likely to be Roman. These pits and ditches form part of a field system perhaps linked with similar features previously identified to the north of the development area.
