Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeological Services Ltd.carried out a Level I Photographic Building Survey at the Parklands Hotel, Boultham Park Road, Lincoln, to support a planning application for a new Lincolnshire Cooperative store on the site. The proposed development site is located on the eastern side of Boultham Park Road, just north of the junction with Skellingthorpe Road and Rookery Lane, on the south-western perimeter of Lincoln City. It is contained within Lincoln city's Boultham Park Character Area, which comprises a public park, civic and commercial buildings and leisure facilities in the grounds of the former 19th century Boultham Hall Estate. The Character Area lies on an area of former scrub woodland and drained wetland in the Witham valley. During the mid to late 20th century, a number of civic and commercial buildings were built along Boultham Park Road, including the Parklands Hotel on the current site. |
