Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring and recording carried out during contractors groundworks for a property development at the former HP Foods Factory. This involved ground reduction and removal/consolidation of previous services prior to laying a concrete raft. The deposit sequence was characterised by dense accumulations of post-medieval demolition and levelling deposits truncated by two pits and a construction trench for an unknown structure, possibly the remains of former 19th century shipyard buildings removed prior to the development of the HP Foods Factory. |
