Abstract: |
Watching brief. An archaeological watching brief was conducted for Youngs Farms Ltd during groundworks associated with the laying of new football pitches for the Aylsham Football Club. The only feature recorded on the site was an undated field boundary ditch seen in foundation trenches dug for a new pavilion. This may be a field boundary shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (c.1885). Although a small amount of prehistoric pottery and flint was recovered from unstratified contexts, no further archaeological features were observed; this may be because of the method of mechanical excavation. |
