Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 4.6 hectares of agricultural land. The survey did not identify any archaeology on the site. All of the anomalies identified are of modern origin, relating to an underground service, an area of scattered magnetic debris, ferrous objects and fencing. Given that the chalk bedrock usually provides good results the lack of anomalies indicates that there is no archaeology present, rather than the technique has not worked. |
