Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over 4.5 hectares of grass pasture at Bystock Farm, Exmouth, Devon. The results show three linear anomalies thought to be former field boundaries, visible on historic mapping from 1938. A number of similar responses are also interpreted as former field boundaries, but are not visible on available mapping. A small number of isolated positive anomalies are also of possible archaeological origin. The rest of the site contains evidence of modern agricultural activity, services, magnetic disturbance, an area of former woodland and areas of natural variation. |
