Abstract: |
The outbuildings at Low Farm were visited on 8th October 2008 and assessed to determine whether they were of sufficient historic value to merit archaeological record. The buildings are shown on the Ordnance Survey of 1903, and probably formed mid-19th century cart-lodges or animal shelters. The structures underwent very considerable alteration approximately 12 years ago when they were converted into a workshop, car port and office, and their original form is no longer apparent. The conversion is understood to have been undertaken by a previous owner, but was left unfinished. The nearby barn is now a private house in separate ownership. Given the extent of the buildings' alterations it was determined that insufficient historic fabric remained to merit recording. |
