Abstract: |
Between the 13th and 14th of February 2014, Archaeological Solutions Ltd carried out an archaeological evaluation on land adjacent to 43 Dallinghoo Road, Wickham Market, Suffolk (NGR TM 296 558). The evaluation was commissioned by Constable Homes Ltd. It was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to planning approval for the proposed erection of eight new residential dwellings, based on advice from Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service - Conservation Team (Waveney District Council Planning Approval Ref. DC/13/2155/OUT). The evaluation revealed predominantly undated ditches and ditch terminals. Though a small number of ?ditches may represent natural features (F1038 and F1042 (Tr.3) and F1012 and F1014 (Tr.4)), ditches were recorded in each trench. None of the features contained finds. The ditches were not readily traced from one trench to another, and no coherent plan was apparent. Two undated pits (F1036 (Tr.2) and F1018 (Tr.4) were also recorded. |
