Abstract:		 A fieldwalking exercise was conducted on Saturday 20th September 2014 at Mitchells Field Covington as a Jigsaw Cambridgeshire training course for volunteers. Medieval and post-medieval ceramic building material (CBM) was recovered, particularly from the north-eastern part of the site. Medieval and postmedieval pottery was also found scattered across the site, along with one confirmed piece of Roman pottery. Other finds include a gun-flint and various metal objects along with fragments of clay-pipe, slate, glass and slag: all of probable postmedieval to modern date.
