Abstract: |
On the 23rd September 2013 Oxford Archaeology East conducted an archaeological evaluation at the site of the former Pitney Bowes office and works off Elizabeth Way, Harlow, Essex (TL 429 101). The proposed development includes the demolition of the existing buildings and the redevelopment of the site as a Distribution Warehouse and includes areas of terracing and landforming across the site. Three trenches were excavated which revealed extensive modern disturbance and truncation in the form of made ground overlying the natural deposits. No archaeological features or deposits were recorded. |
