Abstract: |
Archaeological watching brief conducted in association with the re-development of the westernmost portion of Chandler's Wharf Retail Park. The scheme will create a new link road between Bridge Road and Riverside. The site was of archaeological interest because the new link road will cut across the known line of the southern arm of the moat of Stockton Castle, built over as the town expanded in the second half of the 19th century. The investigation recorded geological deposits and archaeological remains of the modern era, these being of no significance. |
