Abstract: |
The Amenities Block, or bathhouse, was built for the foundry of Thomas Broadbent and Sons in 1955, to comply with new legislation regarding changing and washing facilities for employees. It was designed to a high standard in a modernist style by the local architectural firm of Abbey and Hanson, and may be unique as a surviving, largely unaltered, purpose-built foundry bathhouse. |
