Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken as part of pre-planning works for a proposed development at Tomaknock Farm, Crieff, Perth and Kinross. The evaluation required a 5% trenching sample of the available development area. A total of 30 trenches of varying lengths and alignments were excavated. Throughout the majority of the site no significant archaeological features or artefacts were encountered. Three potentially related pit features were encountered on the slope to the NE of the farmstead. Two of the pits were approximately 25 m from a post medieval quarry road and may relate to the use of the area during this period. The third was further down the slope in a partially waterlogged part of the site. M Cook 2014 |
