Abstract: |
In order to investigate the archaeological potential of a proposed new development located the Land at rear of 34 Baldock Road, Stotfold, Bedfordshire, the Heritage Network was commissioned by the owners to undertake a programme of targeted trial trenching. Two trial trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed new dwelling and access. Both trenches were located in the garden of 34 Baldock Road. They revealed a layer of topsoil, which overlay subsoil, which overlay natural. The trench was empty and no features, deposits or finds were encountered on the site. On the basis of the results of the evaluation, the risks that the proposed development might disturb archaeological remains of any significance may be considered as Low for all periods. |
