Abstract:		 Archaeological monitoring and recording during contractors' excavations of foundation and new drainage trenches identified evidence of a large feature, thought to be a quarry pit, backfilled in the 19th century. The backfilling pre-dated construction of The Vinery, which is marked on maps from 1842. Two residual Roman pottery sherds were recovered.
