Abstract: |
Historic building survey work and monitoring was carried out in advance of, and during the works affecting the historic fabric of the North Wing, the King Edward VII Building and parts of the Great Court at the British Museum. The work was carried out in association with the new World Conservation and Exhibition Centre, particularly the connection of the existing museum spaces. These works mainly involved the removal of an existing mezzanine floor, inserted in 1934-38 into the two Supplementary Rooms, the re-opening of openings into the Great Court and renovation of the Palestine and Cracherode Rooms. |
