Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology Limited undertook a programme of historic building recording focused upon the cellars of Nos. 119 and 121 (former White Hart Inn) and No. 117 Bishopsgate, prior to their demolition. It revealed that whilst the White Hart Tavern had been re-built in 1829, as a new tavern coffee shop and hotel for Mr William Morris, this new inn retained and incorporated part of a preceding 17th century barrel vaulted cellar. |
