Abstract:
The programme of archaeological fieldwork undertaken at the site revealed evidence of scaffolding pits associated with the building of the Congregational Chapel; 21 articulated human burials from both within the chapel and outside in the burial ground; and a pit which pre-dates the building of the chapel. Natural was observed in this area at c. 111.94 m OD. All the finds and features were of a post-medieval date. The human remains and coffin furniture were reburied at Bromyard Cemetery in early 2011, the pottery and other finds were deposited with the archive at the Bromyard and District Local History Society.
