Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 12 hectares of arable farmland. A number of former field boundaries and a bridleway, visible on historic maps from c.1885 to 1978 have been identified suggesting an agricultural past. A number of linear anomalies are of possible archaeological or agricultural origin. The remaining features are modern in origin and include evidence of ploughing, an underground service, scattered magnetic debris and spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish, and magnetic disturbance from nearby ferrous objects. |
