Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out on land adjacent to the Friarage on the Hartlepool headland during geotechnical works. A total of five test pits and four boreholes were dug at various locations across the site. A stone wall was encountered in one trench while some brick foundations, thought to be associated with the 19th century hospital that once stood on the site, were found in another. |
