Abstract: |
Seed and Co. will be planting trees on land to the north-west of Greenlaw and to the immediate south of the steep sided valley for the Blackadder Water known as Greenlaw Dean (NGR: NT 695 499). Scottish Borders Council requested a metal detector survey to be carried out within an area of the northern end of the proposed planting area. The area to be surveyed covered the location of a find spot of Roman Coins and pottery (RCAHMS NT64NE13) and is to the immediate south of the location of the Corbie Heugh Coin Horde (RCAHMS NT64NE10) which comprised of gold and silver coins from Edward III (1327-1377). Only 20th-21st century material was recovered during the metal detector survey. |
