Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out at Greyfriars Road, Doncaster, during ground remediation and piling works for an electricity sub-station. made ground up to 2m in depth was excavatedacross the full extent of the building footprint. Two small areas of undisturbed deposits and possible associated pottery, close to an area of known archaeological interest, suggest archaeological deposits may survive below the excavated level. However, it is likely that the subsequant piling will have caused localised damage to any survivng archaeological features or deposits. |
