Abstract: |
Following completion of the geophysical survey (contexto1-213127) and discussion on the results with Clare King (Wiltshire County Archaeology Service), a programme of evaluation trenching has been agreed. The works involved 2% trenching comprising 2 x 30m and 2 x 15m trenches. |

Archaeological Field Evaluation report featuring previous geophysical survey results, trench plans and photographs. Despite the potential for discovering evidence for Roman occupation on the Site, the evaluation did not reveal any evidence for structural remains or other occupation activity. Three features were identified, but these were limited to modern pits and natural features within Trenches 1 and 3. The remaining two trenches were archaeologically sterile.
