Abstract: |
John Moore Heritage Services carried out an evaluation and following watching brief at 333 Banbury Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire (NGR SP 5058 0958). The evaluation Trench 1 was devoid of any archaeological features and consisted of modern disturbed / made ground overlying the Oxford clay. The watching brief comprised archaeological monitoring during the removal of stantion bases and ground beams of the demolished building. No archaeological features or deposits were identified and no significant finds were noted. Any potential archaeological horizon had been truncated by the insertion of stantion bases and ground beams and general construction works of the, now demolished, building to a general depth of c. 0.6m and up to c. 1.6m. |
