Abstract: |
The evaluation demonstrated that the underlying superficial geology consisted of Lynch Hill gravels. The natural gravels were seen at heights of between 29.37 and 29.60m OD. Modern activity had impacted minimally on the archaeological deposits. In all three trenches the archaeological subsoil remained to a height of between 29.62 and 29.82m OD. Whilst a small number of archaeological features were uncovered and investigated, with the exception of ceramic land drains, there was only one artefact recovered of archaeological importance, dating to the Early Neolithic. |
