Abstract: |
The excavation of three trial trenches at 8-9 Pigeon Green, Snitterfield, revealed no evidence for medieval occupation. A ditch was uncovered and the fragment of tile of 18th or 19th-century date recovered from it suggested it was a relatively recent boundary or drainage feature. The site also contained land drains, sewer pipes and a soakaway added by the current owners. This truncation meant that it was not possible to ascertain whether the site was part of the open fields during the medieval period. |
