Abstract: |
In September 2016 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out monitoring and recording during groundworks associated with the construction of a new single storey rear extension to Figment House, Church Street, Ware, Hertfordshire (NGR TL 3576 1447). The monitoring was undertaken in compliance with a condition attached to planning permission for alteration of a vacant office building (a late 18th century dissenting chapel) to create flats, and the replacement of a rear projection with a larger extension. The monitoring revealed a late 18th - early 19th brick cellar, and layers of modern made ground. |
