Abstract:		 MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Prospect Archaeology to carry out archaeological trial trenching on a proposed development at North Quay, Hayle, Cornwall. A number of prehistoric ditches, pits, postholes and a gully were located across the north-eastern part of the development, sealed by a buried plough soil. Two phases of ditch, with associated banks, were cut through this layer. The banks were buried by a series of windblown sand deposits, interspersed with re-established land surfaces. A modern pit and a field boundary visible on the 1877 Ordnance Survey map were also located within the development area.
