Abstract: |
A historic building assessment of a group of historic buildings and structural remains located at The Gates shopping centre in Durham. These structures occupy the western bridge-head area of Framwellgate Brdige on its N side and the very southern end of E side of the former Milburngate. there are five total historic buildings: Nos. 1-5 Framwellagte Bridge. These buildings were assessment via site inspection of all of the building exteriors, and the interiors of Nos. 1 and 5 Framwellgate Bridge. Parts of No. 5 were included in a detailed formal survey record and No. 1 was subject to a detailed assessment. During a secondary site visit a limited opening-up exercise was carried out to investigate a section of walling in the rear of one of the historic properties. |
